All Traffic Not Equal
I spoke in my last email about the fact that making money from your website is not just about creating content and slapping Adsense on. The playing field has changed, and if you want to keep up with it, it is absolutely necessary to understand the game.

Once again, I am not trying to sell you anything here, but am trying to explain how I have used several techniques in the last few months to make significant changes in my income level. Perhaps ‘techniques’ is the wrong word as it is more a case of mindset than any particular technique.
What I have gained by this change of mindset, is realizing that if you control the traffic then you control the pot of gold at the end of the mythical rainbow.
I like to think of traffic like a funnel. It comes in at one end, and at the thinner end you target it towards where it will profit you the most. If you are just using Adsense, then I will guarantee you that in 9 times out of 10 you are misplacing that traffic and would be able to benefit more by funelling it to other places.
In my mind, these ‘other places’ come under different categories:
1. Advertisers. eg. Adsense, Chitika, tribalfusion etc
2. Affiliate products. eg. Clickbank, Commission Junction etc
3. Pay Per Lead. eg. Hydramedia, Modern Click etc.
4. Your own products. eg. Info-products, membershiop sites etc.
Some take more work but will also signifcantly increase your bottom line. Others may even take less work but will also be more profitable for you.
Test, test and test again and without doubt you will see amazing results!
Traffic eh? The eternal and possibly the most popular question that I am asked. Traffic is seen as teh holy grail of all business. In truth, that is only part-true. However, without any traffic, you don’t have any customers and without customers…
There are tens if not thousands of different ways to obtain visitors to your site. There are also plenty of courses available on the internet which explain it far better and in better detail than I can. However, what I can tell you, is that not all traffic is equal. And it is up to you to find the value of traffic so that you can pay for it in different ways. There are different camps as to whether to physically pay for traffic or to use more natural methods. In fact whichever path you take you are still paying for it whether with time or money. Just remember that not all traffic is equal and often it is worth buying it if it consistently turns into ’sales’ for you.
In my next email I want to talk a bit more about white-hat, grey-hat and black-hat and explain the differences between them. I will also explain the most important thing to decide on when choosing which path to take…
