Armand Morin PDF Size Explained
If you read Armand Morin’s recent PDF called The Obvious Truth,
you will have noticed that he created his PDF in such a way
that each page (or slide) showed fully on your monitor.
I thought that this was pretty cool as it meant that you did
not have to scroll up and down to read one page but the whole
page was presented to you.
It made it very easy to read the PDF and I would love it if
everyone produced their PDFs in this size (hint hint)
I have spent the last coupla hours trying to find out how to
do this, and although it is fairly simple, it did take a bit
of experimentation so I wanted to save you the learning curve…
Anyhow here it is step-by-step assuming that you have Adobe
PDF Professional or similar installed on your computer:
1. Create your document in Word
2. Click on File/Print
3. Make sure that Adobe PDF is selected as your printer
4. Click on Properties by the name of the printer
5. By Adobe PDF Page Size click on ADD
6. By Paper Names, give it a name you will remember
7. Put the width and height as 8.5 and 7 inches
8. Click on Okay and make sure that this page size is now active
9. Click Okay and then Close
10. Click on File/Page Setup
11. Ensure the Page Size that you just created is selected. If
not, then select it
12. Click on File/Print and create your PDF document as usual.
13. When you open your PDF document enter 82.6% as the viewing
size
14. Voila enjoy the Morin/Shaffer PDF viewing experience
Enjoy,
Ben Shaffer
